In a move to curb plastic waste, England has expanded its ban on single-use plastics to include disposable plastic trays, effective October 2026. The government cited alarming statistics: each person annually uses 18 such trays, with only 10% recycled, contributing to ocean pollution. Simultaneously, municipalities are promoting injection-molded plastic bins as a sustainable alternative. These bins, designed for durability and recyclability, are now being adopted in waste management systems to reduce landfill reliance. Environment Secretary Thérèse Coffey emphasized the shift: "We must address plastic pollution head-on, prioritizing reusable solutions like these bins to protect ecosystems."
